Pauline Willis (Lauriate, Sociomapping Regional Distributor in the UK) presented on January 11th 2011 the Mars 500 experiment and the usage of Sociomapping within this international scientific project, which ended in November 2011, at the Annual Conference of the British Psychological Society’s Division of Occupational Psychology in Chester.

On Monday 14. 11. 2011 took place in Prague symposium about Sociomapping. In the presence of experts and consultants, who are working in Czech Republic with the method of Sociomapping were presented several papers concerning for example recent end of project Mars 500 and Czech participation within the international scientific experiment. Radvan Bahbouh talked about new research regarding validity and reliability of Sociomapping and Katerina Bernardova presented the essential importance of Sociomapping in Czech Armed Forces, especially during soldiers’ selection for missions in Afghanistan. Finally, Alek Lacev talked about unconventional usage of Sociomapping in analysis of betrayal in board games. The symposium aims to start a tradition of personal meetings of experts and consultants, who are working with the method of Sociomapping and to create a place for mutual sharing of experiences and ideas regarding this unique method.

QED GROUP have launched new Sociomapping product: Real Time Sociomapping (RTS). Real Time Sociomapping is a portable system that enables you to collect data and create Sociomaps instantly offline. With Real Time Sociomapping, you design your own questions and use Sociomaps to support teams in real time during coaching or team debriefing sessions. This system complements the Team Sociomapping process by enabling you to create powerful questions tailored to the emergent needs of the team.

In May 2011 QED GROUP consultants attended international conferences in Vienna and Athens. In the 47th International Applied Military Psychology Symposium in Vienna, they presented paper concerning analysis of mutual relationships in military units operating in foreign missions. At the 5th International Conference on Psychology in Athens, two papers were presented: first concerning the method of Sociomapping and the second focused on its contribution to the Mars 500 project.

Outing Holland, Service Provider of Sociomapping products in Netherlands, has released new videos about the method of Sociomapping.

The first full-duration simulation of a manned voyage to Mars has reached a major milestone: the ‘spacecraft’ yesterday ‘arrived’ at Mars after 244 days of virtual interplanetary flight. Three crewmembers will ‘land’ on Mars on 12 February and make three sorties onto simulated martian terrain.

Recently, Sociomapping has been broadly referred to on Czech Television in context of the Mars 500 scientific project and QED GROUP´s participation within Mars 500.
